Cannabis and College Campuses: Understanding How Students Are Using Cannabis and What to Do About It

This virtual training will explore the evolving landscape of cannabis use
among college students. Participants will learn about current data on college student cannabis use, different cannabis products currently available, how potency varies across products, and strategies aimed to decrease cannabis-related harms among college students.

Speaker Bio: Julie Sanem, PhD, manages the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s Cannabis Research Center (CRC). The CRC launched in October 2023, and she joined the team in February 2024. Prior to joining the CRC, she led student substance use prevention, risk reduction, and recovery strategies at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include substance use policy, harm reduction, and college students. Julie earned her MPH in community health education and PhD in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
