From Higher Powers to Daily Ritual: The Role of the Mystical and Spiritual in Addiction Treatment and Recovery
Throughout the history of mental health and addiction treatment there has been a discussion of the role of spirituality in recovery and treatment. No matter what there is something important about finding connections to our more authentic and deep rooted self and experiences. In this training we will look at the ways daily practices, rituals, and simple practices that create the spiritual foundation to support and facilitate long term commitment to self care and recovery. We will look at multiple mystical traditions from the East and the West and find the overlapping teachings that facilitate gentle and safe inner exploration that can be applied in treatment, therapy and recovery spaces.

After this training the attendee will:
- Gain a through understanding of the historical application of spiritual and religious traditions in treatment and recovery spaces.
- Learn new ways to find deep spirituality in daily ritual, devotional practices and mindfulness.
- Develop awareness of the mystical traditions that can support self exploration.
