Xylazine: An Emerging Threat

Dr. Marion Snyder, PhD and Lindsey Contella, MS will discuss the history of fentanyl use and abuse in the US and national and local trends. They will focus on the recent emergence of xylazine as a cutting agent and its impact on addiction treatment as well as the value of xylazine testing. They will present on trends and positivity rates of xylazine in the addiction community. Other cutting agents that are currently being detected in fentanyl, along with other emerging drugs, will also be discussed.
