The Flash Mentor Program is a short-term, high-impact mentoring initiative designed to support professionals across North Carolina’s substance use disorder (SUD) and behavioral health workforce. This program creates intentional, structured opportunities for learning, connection, and professional growth—without the long-term commitment of traditional mentoring models.
Through time-limited, goal-focused mentoring sessions, participants are matched with experienced professionals who provide practical guidance, insight, and support around real-world challenges.
How the Program Works
  • Brief, focused mentoring sessions (typically one or two meetings)
  • Targeted matching based on professional goals, experience, and areas of interest
  • Flexible format, offered virtually
  • Structured conversation guides to ensure meaningful and productive engagement
Areas of Focus
Mentoring conversations may include, but are not limited to:
  • Career pathways and professional development
  • Leadership and supervisory skill-building
  • Navigating the SUD and behavioral health workforce
  • Workplace challenges and problem-solving strategies
  • Burnout prevention and professional sustainability
  • Transitioning into new roles or levels of responsibility
Who Should Participate
The Flash Mentor Program is ideal for:
  • Emerging and mid-career professionals seeking guidance
  • Supervisors and leaders looking to strengthen their skills
  • Professionals exploring career transitions or advancement
  • Experienced practitioners interested in giving back as mentors
Why Flash Mentoring?
Flash mentoring offers accessible, efficient, and impactful support by meeting professionals where they are. Participants gain actionable insight, expanded professional networks, and renewed confidence, while mentors contribute to professional development without a long-term time commitment.
