Olivia Barefoot, MSW
Collegiate Prevention Coordinator
Olivia Barefoot, MSW joined APNC in 2026 as the Collegiate Prevention Coordinator. Olivia is a Raleigh native; she received her Master of Social Work from NC State University. Olivia has spent her career in the non-profit sphere – from working in a foodbank and free pharmacy, to manning a domestic violence hotline, to serving folks in the carceral system. She most recently managed a program addressing social determinants of health with legal remedies at Legal Aid of NC. Olivia’s professional experience has taught her the importance of working from an interdisciplinary lens to engage communities thoughtfully and build relationships authentically. Olivia draws from her time in direct care social work to inform her macro-level practices, striving to build trauma-informed, person-centered systems. When she’s not working, Olivia can be found starting a new craft or snuggling her cat, Miffy.
